Recruiting on EarthMC
How do all the huge nations grow to where they are right now? Through invading? Bribery? Perhaps murder and assasination? No, the main cause is because of their huge recruitment industries. Because of this, nations are able to raise their sizes and grow to their peak power. But then again, you must ask the question, is recruiting getting out of hand? As new players swarm into EMC, town and nation owners lie and deceit them in order to join their towns. One common method is giving free diamonds and tools even though they are very cheap in this economy. And with this comes businesses such as recruiter central and freelance recruiting. But while some people find this as a good way for players to earn money, is deceit and fraud the correct way to get people to join your town, as well as not much compassion towards the residents especially when you're only doing it for money? Well the answer to that question isnt simple, while yes the recruiting economy helps players get gold and helps new players join a town. It feels fake and cold as no one is recruiting from heart, yet just from selfishness.
The businesses of recruiting
One very famous business is recruiter central. Here players get hired to do recruiting for other players. People pay high prices for other players to recruit for them, an example is that if a person needs 20 residents. A recruiter comes and takes the job. But then, that creates another ethical problem in this game. If people are only recruiting for money, does that mean they are just farming new players like animals? Well let's take a few thoughts, if someone wants players to grow their town, but does not have the compassion to provide them the best, or the time to actually recruit them, they will just hire someone else. And when these players are recruited, sometimes the nation also hires them to recruit for the nation. So in turn, this starts to look like a pyramid scheme when you draw the lines together. And in truth, and in sadness, yes, recruiting is in fact somewhat of a ponzi scheme. And with that, it raises another problem, how will other small towns which take the honest and non-scam path be able to grow their nation/town? If anyone can just hire someone to recruit for them, it makes the entire system harder for them. So recruiting is as well a hierarchy system.
What are the benefits for this mass recruitment?
While this mass recruitment scheme is somewhat ethically wrong, it still provides many benefits for the ones in the top. For starters, you do not have to do a second of work, and you can let your nation benefit and grow. And as well as helping the upper class, it also somewhat helps the recruiters in hand. But only a limited number, while recruiters do make money from this job, they can also get caught into business and political drama, and without a middleman for this payment. They could be easily scammed into recruiting for free. One way we are able to prevent this, is to create a way for a middleman system so that scamming cannot be possible at all, but in this game with greed running amok, that is nearly impossible. So in conclusion, these are the main points of this article. While recruiting can bring great fame and glory, it can also bring despair and problems to workers and others. In the grand scheme of things, only the higher class will be able to succeed, and the lower class may be lower if this continues.
