The Blockbuster Insider, commonly known as TBI, is the largest and oldest news source on the Minecraft server EarthMC, running since 2017 and boasting 2900+ discord members and 1500+ servers following news feeds. TBI remains committed to providing quality news for every nation on EarthMC.
Forms of News:
TBI, in an effort to provide a variety of content, has several news feeds focused on different types of news. They are the following:
TBI-live - TBI's main news feed comprised of news from every nation on EMC
TBI-media - A channel that focuses on maps, graphs and unique photos to showcase EarthMC in whole different light
TBI-events - A feed that informs the public of upcoming events held on EMC
Articles - Longer more diverse content which dives deeper into specific topics (you may find our articles page using this link)
Town-reviews - A feed dedicated to reviewing towns across EMC
Staff Roles:
In order to provide such quality news, TBI needs a dedicated team comprised of many different roles. They are the following:
Managing Editor - The top ranking TBI officials, managing the company as a whole
Senior Editors
Editors/Head Cartographer/Head Writer - Manage each respective field
Journalist - Post in the previously mentioned live, media and events feeds
Writer - Write articles and town reviews
Data Analysts - Create visually appealing graphs to be posted in tbi-media
Cartographer/Content Creator - Create maps/content to capture the EMC world which are posted in tbi-media as well
The Journalist, Writer, Data Analyst and Cartographer roles all have trial roles associated with them
News Guidelines:
As an organization, TBI needs to come up with a list on what is considered relevant news for the TBI live channel, it is the following:
- Any new message from the changelog or announcement channels on the EMC discord
- National election results
- Formal alliances formed/broken
- War declarations/retractions
- Denounce against nations, this may only be posted if the nation condemning a nation has more than 100 residents. (avoid posting more than 5 posts per nation, each day)
- Notable players getting banned, unbanned or quitting
- Cease fire between nations at war
- Nation/alliance being renamed
- Nations forming/joining mega nations
- New alliance members
- Any PVP with more than 8 players involved (avoid posting more than 3 pvp posts per day)
- New national government/cabinet/leader
- Peace treaties
- Any formal written agreements between nations
- Server maintenance/status (avoid posting if downtime is short)
- Nation merges / Nation Disbanded
- Players winning dragon heads from events
- Server updating versions
- Embargos on a nation (avoid posting after 10+ nations join)
- Nation capitals being sieged, thus losing their n spawns
- Monthly mystery master announced
- Any server hosted events
- National events that reach 15+ players at once (coronations, unifications, church events) events cannot be advertising something
- Nations entering civil war
- Nation’s announcing new constitutions
Clarifications:
- Towns are not considered news
- Individuals declaring war/denouncing nations is not news (must be a greater entity)
- ‘notable players' are classified as a nation leader, or someone otherwise well known across the whole server
